How to Marry a Duke
Vicky Dreiling
Tristan, the Duke of Shelbourne is a man with a mission: find a wife he can tolerate as long as they both shall live. Love is not necessary--nor desired. But how to choose among a dizzying array of wealthy-yet-witless candidates? Hire London's infamously prim and proper matchmaker. Then pretend she's not the most captivating woman he's ever met...
Helping a devilish Duke create a contest to pick his perfect mate is the kind of challenge Tessa Mansfield relishes. Her methods may be scandalous, but she's determined to find the notorious bachelor more than a wife--she'll bring him true love. Yet when Tessa watches the women vie for the Duke's affections, she longs to win his heart herself. And after a stolen kiss confirms Tristan's desire, Tessa knows she has broken a matchmaker's number one rule: never fall in love with the groom.

ReplyDeleteI don't know how popular dukes would be today in England... it's be cool to be a) a duchess and b)married to someone with that sexy accent. But what would I do? Well, I'd move to london. And let him name the first son whatever he wanted (as long as I got kid 2)

I do not believe in marrying for a title. A title and money is great, but I would still be myself.

Considering I'm already married to a King, I'd say that's a step up!

It's the man not the title, I care about. Deb -r.d1@myfairpoint.net
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I would want to marry a duke... I would be constantly under the "spotlight" and have to fend off the photogs! But I would generally just be myself to marry a book... Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI would follow him or get someone to follow him so I could learn more about him. I would try to act like I was wealthy to and lay it thick on female charm.

Since my duke lives in regency-era fiction -- Texan that I am, I would have my fictional wealthy father buy the duke I wanted with his money.

I am so looking forward to reading this book. I love everything I've heard about it during this tour. To marry a Duke, I'd definitely learn everything there was to be a Duchess. Then I'd go after him. :)
