About ~ Contact

My name is Tasha and I'm a native Texan!

I graduated college with a Bachelors of Business Administration, and I'm currently working in accounting. If I wasn't working in accounting, I would love to work in the book publishing profession. Some people tell me I should write books since I love to read them so much, but I'll leave that to the professionals. I just want to be surrounded by books, not writing them.

When I'm not reading, I'm most likely catching up on all the reality shows that are clogging up my DVR.

The Blog...

I started Book Obsessed (though it's been through a couple of name changes) in April of 2010. I started this blog because I always wanted a blog, but I had no idea what to blog about. Some people blog about their lives, but mine just isn't that interesting. :) So my coworkers, who are always making fun of me for reading, suggested I blog about books. Then was born Book Obsessed!

I mostly blog about romance novels, although I like to mix it up a bit with mystery/suspense novels.

How it all started...

My obsession with reading began at a very young age. I can remember being in 4th or 5th grade reading Sweet Valley novels with my friends. But my love for romance novels didn't start until junior high while at a friend's slumber party.

As girls tend to do, we were snooping and came across some of her mom's romance novels. (You know, the ones with Fabio type men on the cover.) After reading some of these out loud to each other to amuse ourselves, I've been hooked ever since. No more Sweet Valley High for me! (Or maybe by junior high I had moved on to Sweet Valley University)

I started out reading the historicals, the ones you can buy for $1 at the Dollar Store, before graduating to Sandra Brown and Virginia Henley.

During college, I didn't read as much for fun, but more as a requirement, so my novels had to take a backseat. After college, I picked them back up with my discovery of Lori Foster. Before Lori, I wasn't a even aware of racy books, let alone erotica, even existing. And from then on I moved to some of my favorite more adult themed authors: Maya Banks, Evangeline Anderson, Shayla Black, and Carol Lynne to name a few.

But don't get me wrong, I still enjoy a sticky-sweet romance. :)
