Review: Whiteout & Rescued by Laura Harner

Whiteout (Three's Allowed, #1)

The immediate sex had by these three I didn't find very believable. There didn't seem to be any working up to it. They'd had a crush on Christina for years and then all of sudden they finally work up the nerve to act during a snowstorm?

The whole rapid progression of Cade and Carter's feelings for one another was also unrealistic. I'm not sure if I overlooked what finally got them to act on their feelings or if the author never addressed it. Either why, it was way too quickly. I didn't feel the chemistry or any kind of connection with these three.

Rescued (Three's Allowed, #2)
I really enjoyed this one from the start. The chemistry between the three of them was immediately felt. The overall story was deeper than sex just for the sake of sex, which is always a plus. I only wish the story was longer so that it would have allowed for their relationship to fully develop.

I did think that Elizabeth seemed to get of her abuse rather quickly, which threw some wrenches into the overall believability of the story. Other than that, this is a good read for those looking for a bi-ménage.

Review: Theirs to Keep by Maya Banks

Theirs to Keep (Tangled Hearts Trilogy, #1)
Publish Date: October 22, 2012
Trade Paperback {p.229}
Genre: Erotica, Ménage
Series: Tangled Hearts #1
Source: Personal Library
Elle, Merrick Sullivan, Cade Walker
When Cade Walker and Merrick Sullivan find Elle hiding in the cabinet of a gun store, they know they can’t just walk away from the fragile woman with no memory of who she is or who tried to kill her. Merrick is training for the title shot in the heavyweight division as a mixed martial artist and can’t afford distractions, but neither can he turn his back on the woman who tugs at his heartstrings.

Elle feels safe with her two protectors, and the longer she spends with them, the more she realizes that she has no desire to remember her past. Not when it could compromise her future with Cade and Merrick.

Cade has his own set of concerns when it comes to Elle, and it quickly becomes clear to the two men that for the first time in their friendship, a woman is coming between them. But what if they just kept her there? Between them. Where she belongs.
Absolute disappointment.

I've never really been a fan of the whole insta-love, but this one was a bit much. When they first lay eyes on her, their in love. Another major disappointment was the ménage. There was truly no point in it, because the story focused on Merrick and Elle. Cade was just a hanger on with no real purpose to the overall story. That was sad; I felt so bad for him because I didn't feel the love for him from Elle.

There was no true chemistry between any of them, but the author majorly favored Merrick of the two men. The fact that not one of them was even a little bit curious as to who this woman was before trying to rush her down the aisle was totally ludicrous. It never occurred to them that this woman could already be married or could be someone's mother!?! Craziness! It was like they found a lost puppy and claimed it for their own.

I'm a huge Maya Banks fan, as I pre-ordered this book just because it was her, but after reading it, I'm regretting that decision. It was a poor rehash of Colters'. I loved Colters' Woman, but this wasn't the best. With that being said, the characters weren't horrible people, they just had no chemistry between them. And poor Cade, he had no point whatsoever.

Review: Three to Ride & Two to Love by Sophie Oak

Three to Ride (Nights in Bliss, Colorado, #1)

I really enjoyed the twins, but I felt Rachel should have been honest with at least Max upfront since she claimed to be in love with them. With love should come at least some trust, but the fact that she still withheld important information made me question her love.

Other than that issue, I enjoyed this read. I'll continue the series to see what happens with the town residents. They seem like a great bunch of people.

Two to Love (Nights in Bliss, Colorado, #2)

This one, not so much. I was not able to recover any kind of like for Callie after her stunt at the biker bar. She just had a lot of TSTL moments. I never warmed up to Nate. He was not an endearing character whatsoever. The overall relationship would have been fine without him.

This menage was definitely one of those where one party is truly not needed.

Review: Double Time by Olivia Cunning

Double Time
Olivia Cunning
Series: Sinners on Tour #3
Publisher: Sourcebooks
Publish Date: October 1, 2012
Trade Paperback {p. 399}
Source: Publisher
Genre: Erotica, Menage
Reagan Elliot, Trey Mills, Ethan Conner
Challenge: 100+
Buy the Book: Amazon

Trey Mills, the notoriously sexy Sinners rhythm guitarist, gives up his bisexual lifestyle and is swept into a hot, heady romance with Reagan Elliot, a female rock star sensation. But when Trey encounters Reagan's sexy bisexual roommate, Ethan Conner, he can no longer deny who he is or what he wants. Reagan heartily agrees to a solution that opens up a hot new world of sexual experience--and love--with the two men she wants the most.
Reagan and Trey seemed to be instantly connect it on so many levels aside from the physical. Girls usually eat up Trey’s BS like it's the gospel, but not Reagan. She goes toe to toe with him and that’s exactly what he needs.

But for Trey, Reagan is not enough for him. He loves her, but there is a whole other side to him that he has yet to reveal to her. Once he does reveal that side of himself, it only makes their relationship stronger. That's when Ethan enters the picture, and adds a whole new dimension to things.

Reagan and I had our moments. I really liked her for the most part, but that there were sometimes I didn't. Like the times when Trey was sharing some deep emotional things with her and she'd laugh thinking he was joking. I just thought that with her loving him so much, she could tell the difference between him being serious and joking. Plus I didn't care for how she wasn’t a treating Ethan as an equal among them. Ethan was a welcome addition to the relationship, but I don't feel like I really got to know him on a deeper level. What I did know of him I did like. But who I was totally enamored with was Trey's brother, Dare. I really hope he gets his own story.

I do believe this may be the hottest addition to the Sinner's series, and if you've read the previous installments that's saying a lot. The Sinners series is definitely a series you'll want to collect.

Two couples, two very hot wives, two husbands who don't mind a little swapping...

The Mitchells and the Harts have been next door neighbors and friends for the past year. They have loads in common; double incomes, professional careers, no kids...and a kinky streak.

Now they're about to become very good friends...with kinky benefits.

The sex between them all is hot, naughty, and unbearably exciting. It isn't merely swapping partners and moving to another room; it's true foursome sex, same room, same bed, all four involved. For Drew and Cat Mitchell and Logan and Alexis Hart, it's about barreling through boundaries none of them have ever crossed before, doing kinky things they've only fantasized about. But when they begin to exchange not just sex but emotional connection, the problems start; a little jealousy, feeling left out, wanting more from the wrong partner. Can two couples really share everything without losing it all?

Cat has been pressing her husband of ten years for a foursome with their new next door neighbors.

What started out as some smoking hot sex between four consenting adults went completely wrong. From the start you could see this was a train wreck just waiting to happen. In getting to know the characters a bit better, I took a dislike to Cat. She seemed like she was always up to no good. She came across as very fake. Her husband Drew seemed to just put it with her and whatever diabolical plan she was cooking up.

Logan and his wife Alexis didn't have a great relationship either. Logan was always pointing out her faults and finding her lacking in just about everything. Alexis was the most reserved of all four of them. At times it looked as though she was participating in this kink only to please her husband.

When all four of them get together in any kind of interaction it's apparent that Drew and Alexis would be the better match of the couples.

Even knowing this was something horrible that would blow up in their faces, I couldn't put it down. With knowing it was bound to end badly, I still had to see it for myself.

Review: Storm Bound by Alice Gaines

Genre: Menage
Christie Lovejoy, Wolf Martin, Jon Tucker
Challenge: 100+

Stranded on a steamy tropical island, these three will create their own heat…

Christie Lovejoy is normally all business. But when a hurricane bears down on the exclusive resort she's sharing with two sexy businessmen, it's time to throw caution to the tropical winds. How often do you find two gorgeous men with the hots for you…and the willingness to share?

Wolf Martin and Jon Tucker have been friends for years, and their taste in women has never overlapped…until now. Wolf, Jon, and Christie use the luxurious resort to take the kind of sensual journey that only total isolation will allow. But when the storm recedes, will they be ready to leave their island paradise?
This novella was just okay, not something that will draw you in. My biggest gripe with this story is how Christie tricked the two men into staying on an island during a hurricane. The fact that she took that decision from them didn't sit well with me. From that point on, I had no interest in Christie what-so-ever.

The menage scenario seemed more like they were together because they were each others only options. The guys were okay, but not much depth. I didn't know any more about them at the end of the story than I did at page one. I guess that's sometimes the case with novellas.

Valentine Westridge and Kurt Schillig are lovers, and have been since the Peninsular War when lonely young officer Valentine let himself be seduced by the equally lonely Kurt. Now they're back from the war and intent on beginning the future they dreamed of together, one that includes a quiet country estate, horses, dogs, children, and each other. Their plan, however, also requires a wife. At the suggestion of a mutual friend, Valentine and Kurt believe the financial security they can offer to impoverished widow Leah Marleston will help her accept the unusual sexual relationship they are suggesting.

Leah is at her wit's end, creditors having taken everything she owns to pay off her late husband's gambling debts. She must find a way to support herself and her two children, or be forced to marry her abusive and obsessive brother-in-law. In Valentine's and Kurt's arms, Leah discovers a passion she never knew existed. Brought together by necessity, bonded by desire, these three lonely people find themselves fighting against all odds for a love that was never part of their plans.
The instant attraction among these three I believed, but the instant love, not so much. Kirk and Valentine have been in love for some time, so the thought that the minute they laid eyes on Leah they fell in love cheapened the love between Valentine and Kirk to me.

I am glad however that both Valentine and Kirk took an instant liking to Leah's children. That won them over with me. I would have liked to see the relationship between this trio grow, but with it being a very short read, that didn't happen.

Amity, the Goddess of Health, works as a medical aesthetist, using her remaing goddess powers to help people heal their spirits. Her profession soon brings two masculine Etruscan werewolves, Remy and Rom, into her life. The two werewolves have been searching for a woman powerful enough to handle both of them, but they've never met a woman strong enough...until they meet Amity. Toegether they must use the power generated by their love to kill a vicious demon and keep him locked away forever, or risk losing everything.
The relationship or the dynamic between these three captured my attention from the very start. They didn't waste any time getting down to business in the bedroom.

Amity is a goddess who can heal. And guess how she recharges her powers? Sex. So if that's how she powers up, two is better than one, right?

Remy is instantly smitten with Amity. Actually they both are but Rom is willing to do the noble thing and step aside for his cousin. Of course Amity at first mistakes this as Rom not being interested in her. But when she does manage to get them in her bed at the same time it's enough to make her feel like she can heal the world.

They manage to kill a demon or two in their spare time when they weren't servicing their "lady." Sal makes some appearances to add to the overall entertainment. Definitely a read that will offer something to fulfill your every need.

When Samantha Cross goes to her brother's employers to ask for help, she had no idea that it would change her life forever. To repay their debt, they both have to live and work at the Dakota Ranch for one year. Samantha has no option but to accept.

Her brother's employers, Shayne and Jackson Montgomery, are not what she expected. Jackson, the younger brother is too handsome and charming to resist, especially when he sets his sights on her. He wants her to share her life with not only him, but his older brother, Shayne.

She realizes that the only way is to show Shayne he's not the crude animal he's become convinced he is.

Shayne is hard headed and won't believe it, convinced that he would only hurt her. Can Samantha convince this tender giant that he and his brother are perfect for her?

What little character development this story had (too short for a lot) was surprisingly good. I liked Samantha and Shayne a bit more than Jackson though. Jackson just seemed like an unnecessary third to Samantha and Shayne’s relationship. I think the book would have been fine without him.

Shayne has had issues in the past with getting women due to his size, but with Samantha she’s not frightened by it. My only issue other than the unnecessary addition of Jackson, is the near assault of Samantha and the sex she had immediately after said assault. That just didn’t seem all that conceivable to me.

Other than that, I really enjoyed it, and look forward to seeing more from this series.

The bodyguards of Black Dog Four had been carefully chosen for looks, temperament, battle skills and sexuality. In the tradition of the Spartans, the idea was to see if lovers worked better as a team than merely friends. The experiment had seemed like a complete success until they'd been sent to guard Maria Valdez. After Maria was killed in an explosion, all four men had refused to work together.

Addy Constentine needed around-the-clock security if she hoped to legitimise her father's empire. With her stepbrother now in prison, Addy's goal was to keep the family out of the underworld it had been entrenched in for decades.

With death threats coming from several different sources, Addy needed the best. She needed the men of Black Dog Four.
The Black Dog Four team has just recently reunited after losing the person they were hired to protect. So going in you already know who is with whom because they already have an established relationship. This story was mainly just about them trying to make a relationship of four work for the long haul.

There were also the side stories of Alec and Lon and Abby and Joe. Those two relationships are the ones that actually develop during the span of the book. Both of these relationships developed rather quickly and seemed to only scratch the surface with no real depth to them. Especially Alec and Lon’s relationship. Alec’s whole time spent Taggert seemed to diminish his relationship with Lon.

But as always, Lynne delivers on the hot sex front.

Stacy Daniels left the ranch she loved so much years ago. Not being able to cope with her abusive father, she'd stayed away as much as possible. Infrequent visits to the ranch to visit those she loved caused her heartache, but she couldn't stay away.

Wolfe, Travis and Cash Dakota, the foreman's three sons, lived and worked on the ranch and she'd loved them forever. Realizing the futility of loving all three, she carefully kept her love for them hidden as guilt consumed her.

She wanted more than anything to stay on the ranch she loves so much with the only real family she's ever known. But if she gives in, loving all three of them the way she does, she'll ruin everything.

Not wanting to cause anyone pain, she has no choice but to flee.

Wolfe, Travis and Cash Dakota have other plans for her and won't let her go. They've waited for years to be Her Dakota Men.
I’m not sure if it’s due to the length of this story or not, but I didn’t feel like any of these characters had any depth. Stacy is torn because she’s in love with all three brothers and has slept with all three on separate occasions. And they’re just suppose to live happily ever after?

By the end of the story, I wasn’t any better off than I was at page one.

How did bumping into a man in a hospital corridor develop into dreams of red-hot threesomes? Jade can't understand why she's dreaming of the man she literally bumped into three months ago, but when she actually meets the men from her dreams at her sister's party, things seem to spiral even further out of her control. Unwilling to believe her sister's explanation, Jade still can't deny the telepathic link she now shares with the two men. Zack and Mitchell have finally found their third, the woman who completes them-their Taydelaan-but she seems intent on denying their future together. Can they convince Jade that being loved doesn't mean being dependent?

Jade encounters her mates while at the hospital for the birth of her sister’s child.

Their Taydelaan is an erotic adventure of Jade, Zack, and Mitchell becoming a permenant triad. These three were having amazing sex before ever truly meeting each other.

I really enjoyed the fact that Jade questioned the whole situation and didn’t just accept what was being told to her. She didn’t automatically accept the that these people were aliens and her life partners.

Once again Ms. Clark does a great job in getting across the emotions of all the parties involved.

Summer Showers was excited about moving to Whispering Mountain for a better job and triple the pay. When her living situation changes, she is persuaded to move in with the Durden men temporarily. Staying with the men only makes her undeniable attraction grow stronger. She finds it difficult to suppress the desire growing inside of her.

Dalton, Denver, and Dillon Durden knew they were in trouble the minute they invited Summer to stay with them. While all three men tried to fight their attraction to her, they found it difficult to stay away.

Someone is lurking in Whispering Mountain and they won’t stop until they get what they have come for. Will the stranger rip their world apart or will the Durden men fight to protect everything they love and surrender to Summer?
Summer finds herself attracted to not one man but three, who just so happen to be brothers. Although it seems as if only two of them return her feelings.

The story started out straight to the point. No big build up to the romance between the involved parties because it was already in progress. This to me is a plus. You don't have all the filler pages distracting you from the story. But in this case I didn't really feel that there was more going on between Summer and her men other than the physical attraction.

Denver and Dillion were great guys in the fact that they treated her well, but beyond that I didn't really feel that I knew anything about them. Dalton on the other hand, came across as a jerk until he opened up ad became the wounded hero.

The overall chemistry between the three of them was very well written. Ms. Alexander manages to write some very vivid and descriptive sex scenes that will keep you wanting more.

Add in a persistent cop who wants her to snitch and a notorious drug dealer who wants to bed her and she’s in over her head.

Vince, Logan, Sunny, Frankie and Jake are wolves and SWAT team officers. While out at a club, they meet their mate, and she’s one sexy little dancer. She avoids them, but they remain determined. When they pick up her scent near a drug factory they raid, they assume that she’s a criminal in their current investigation. They locate, handcuff and arrest her, and then they bring her back to their place to initiate their version of interrogation. By the time they’re finished, she’ll be begging for their touch.

Melissa is struggling to provide for herself, her late sister's children, and her sickly aunt. She turns to creative ways to provide her family and friends with money. While working at a gentleman's club, she meets SWAT team two, the Vladamir brothers, who recognize her as their mate.

Ms. Dwyer again manages to write vivid erotic scenes between all parties involved. With five men no one was left out or treated as an afterthought. All the brothers received equal time and emotional involvement with Melissa in their own individual way.

This is a great series for anyone wanting smoking hot sex with a paranormal twist. I hope Ms. Dwyer continues with this series.

Buy the Book: Amazon

Can their love give her the strength to overcome the tragedy in her past?

When police officer Seth Colter sees the delicate, shabbily dressed beauty in line at the soup kitchen where he's serving, he's gut shot over the idea of her being on the streets cold and alone. More baffling is the dark, possessive instinct that tells him she belongs to him.

For Lily Weston, home is a secluded nook in a back alley?until Seth offers her a place to stay. She's wary of his offer, but even one night out of the cold is too much temptation to resist.

Seth is convinced Lily is his. The problem is, when his brothers lay eyes on her, the same primitive instinct comes roaring to the surface. The Colters never imagined they'd follow the unconventional path of their fathers, but they can't ignore their mutual need to offer Lily their protection?and their love. But before Lily and the brothers can forge a future together, they must heal the deep wounds of her past.

Lily is a woman who has seen great pain and sorrow in her life, and feels that she is responsible for it. In a effort to punish herself because she feels she's not worthy, she lives her life on the streets. But when she meets the Colter brothers, all that changes.

I truly enjoyed revisiting the Colter family and seeing them thiry years down the road. I loved Colters' Woman, so I was excited to read about their children.

Lily seemed like she could be a strong female but lost her way. I didn't quite get a full understanding of her until the very end. Each and every one of the brothers were great, but at times I felt as though Seth was a little left out.

This addition was more of a sweet romance than a steamy erotica. Lily and her men spent the bulk of their rime in the kitchen either cooking or eating. Don't get me wrong, it did have some steamy sex, but the overall story was sweet which was a nice thing.
