Amity, the Goddess of Health, works as a medical aesthetist, using her remaing goddess powers to help people heal their spirits. Her profession soon brings two masculine Etruscan werewolves, Remy and Rom, into her life. The two werewolves have been searching for a woman powerful enough to handle both of them, but they've never met a woman strong enough...until they meet Amity. Toegether they must use the power generated by their love to kill a vicious demon and keep him locked away forever, or risk losing everything.
The relationship or the dynamic between these three captured my attention from the very start. They didn't waste any time getting down to business in the bedroom.

Amity is a goddess who can heal. And guess how she recharges her powers? Sex. So if that's how she powers up, two is better than one, right?

Remy is instantly smitten with Amity. Actually they both are but Rom is willing to do the noble thing and step aside for his cousin. Of course Amity at first mistakes this as Rom not being interested in her. But when she does manage to get them in her bed at the same time it's enough to make her feel like she can heal the world.

They manage to kill a demon or two in their spare time when they weren't servicing their "lady." Sal makes some appearances to add to the overall entertainment. Definitely a read that will offer something to fulfill your every need.

Review: What a Goddess Wants by Stephanie Julian

Stephanie Julian
Series: Forgotten Goddess #1
Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca
Publication Date: July 1, 2011
Trade Paperback {p.271}
Source: Publisher
Genre: Paranormal
Characters: Thesan "Tessa", Caligo
Challenge: 100+, 50 States ~ Pennsylvania

It's OK no one remembers Etruscan Sun goddess Tessa. But when a demon threatens her life, she must turn to mythology's darkest warrior for protection...

Caligo of the Cimmerians has never met a woman as warm, sunny and inviting as Tessa. Their sizzling mutual attraction quickly sweeps the two of them into a love story that's worthy of the gods...

What a Goddess Wants is filled with loads of hot sex. That is to be expected when you have a goddess of the dawn (sun) who gets her power from sex.

Caligo and Tessa have an amazing, explosive meeting and the book takes off from there. The story moved at a quick pace which is always a plus with me. Although the pace was quick, the story didn't really grab my attention.

Caligo was protecting Tessa from a demon after her powers, but it seemed to stay in the planning stages with little action.

I did however really enjoy the ending. The love Cal had for Tessa was evident for all to see. The raw emotion he showed was so moving that if you weren't a fan of Cal in the beginning you were by the end.

Book Beginnings & Friday 56: What a Goddess Wants

The Friday 56 is a weekly meme hosted by Freda's Voice. Check out the rules and join in the fun.

Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
Turn to page 56.
Find the fifth sentence.
Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of this blog. Post a link along with your post back to this blog.

Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by A Few More Pages. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence, or two, of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.

Book Beginnings:
The third blow from the iron hammer sent Caligo to the ground. His face hit first, of course, and he spit blood until it pooled on the blacktop beside him.

Friday 56:
Cal immediately grabbed the remote, sat in the chair, and began to press buttons. Tessa had to stifle a laugh. No matter what race, religion, creed...hell, no matter the species, some things were universal.

Theme Thursday {5}: Facial Parts

This meme is being hosted by Kavyen @ Reading Between Pages. Each Thursday she will be posting a new "theme" Anyone can join in; here are the rules:

  • A new "theme" will be posted each Thursday
  • Select a conversion/snippet/sentence from your current read
  • Post your selection, but don't forget to list the title and author of the book
  • This event is open for one whole week
  • It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)

Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”

This week's "theme" is: FACIAL PARTS

Forcing her lids to open, she found herself staring into moonlight-gray eyes, half hidden beneath midnight-black bangs. Those bangs nearly reached the tip of slightly crooked nose that'd been broken at least once in his life. Possibly more than once, if the scar on his left cheekbone and the one under the cleft in his chin were any indication of the life he led. She followed the line of his jaw back up to his ear, noting that the rest of his hair wasn't as long but cliped tight to his head. She lifted her hands to brush the bangs out of his eyes -- and realized he's tied her to the bed.
