Western Blog Tour: #Giveaway with Katie Lane & R.C. Ryan

Shirlene Dalton has it all: a dream marriage to a man who spoils her rotten and the most outrageous mansion Bramble, Texas, has ever seen. But when her husband unexpectedly dies, Shirlene finds herself right back where she started-in a rundown trailer on the wrong side of the tracks. Never the type to let a little bad luck and a whole heap of heartache get her down, Shirlene is ready to prove to the local gossips she can make it on her own... until she ends up living next door to the most tempting cowboy in town.

Billy Wilkes has a score to settle and a plan to wipe Bramble right off the map. But when his sexy, redheaded neighbor figures out what he's up to, his good ol' boy charm won't be enough to save him. With the town on his tail, Billy will have to come clean quick -- or kiss Shirlene goodbye.

A WYOMING SKY NOVEL

The Truth Can Be an Irresistible Temptation . . .

As a young boy, Quinn Conway was shattered by his mother's mysterious disappearance. Today, as the oldest of the Conway brothers, his only concern is protecting his family and their ranch. One look at beautiful, strong-willed Cheyenne O'Brien tells him she's also no stranger to tragedy. A series of increasingly dangerous "accidents" are plaguing her and her land, and Quinn can't stand idly by while a woman is in danger. Fiercely independent, Cheyenne isn't one to lean on others, yet she can't deny her attraction to the rugged rancher offering help. Soon, the passion building between them proves as wild and untamed as the land she loves-and just as impossible to resist. But a relentless enemy is about to make one final devastating move. To survive, Quinn and Cheyenne must put their cherished freedom-and their hearts-at risk . . .

Kissing Santa Claus
NASCAR driver Logan Perrish returns to Lucky Harbor, Washington, with love in his heart and a ring in his pocket. But can Sandy Jansen forget the past and give him a second chance? Or will Logan be spending another Christmas alone?

I'll Be Home for Christmas
After ignoring the advice of Miz Miriam Randall, local matchmaker, Annie Roberts expects another hum drum holiday in Last Chance, South Carolina. But when a stray cat arrives in the arms of Army sergeant Matt Jasper, a calico named Holly just may be the best matchmaker of all.

O Little Town of Bramble
All Ethan Miller wants for Christmas is to celebrate in Bramble, Texas, with family and friends. But when his childhood neighbor, Samantha Henderson, comes home for the holiday, Ethan realizes that the girl-next-door could be the girl of his dreams.
Kissing Santa Claus Jill Shalvis
I loved Logan in The Sweetest Thing and I loved him even more this time around. Logan has made mistakes in the past but you can see he’s truly a changed man. He and Sandy were such a great fit that you really wanted them to get their happy ever after. The two of them are very hot together. Another thing I loved about Logan is his relationship with his ex-wife. I think it speaks highly of man who is truly able to be friends with his ex-wife.

I’ll Be Home for Christmas Hope Ramsay
I really enjoyed this novella in the sense of it being a heartwarming tale. This addition was a bit more on the sweet side with a touch of sad. Annie takes in Matthew, a man recently out of the service, for the holidays and it was love at first sight; at least for him. But from the start, Matt seemed to be exactly what Annie needed.

O Little Town of Bramble Katie Lane
This is a Christmas story that will keep you laughing. The town is putting on a live nativity scene that goes totally wrong in so many ways. I loved the Bramble townspeople. The romance between Sam and Ethan was sweet and enduring. They started out as best friend who fell in love and that only made their story all the sweeter.

Review: Going Cowboy Crazy by Katie Lane

Going Cowboy Crazy
Katie Lane
Series: Deep in the Heart of Texas #1
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing
Publication Date: May 1, 2011
Mass Market Paperback {p.345}
Genre: Contemporary, Western
Characters: Faith Aldridge, Slate Calhoun
Challenge: 100+, Summer Romance

Faith Aldridge wants answers. Bramble, Texas is the only place she can find them . . . as well as Hope, the identical twin sister she never knew she had. But the townsfolk reckon that shy city-girl Faith is really her long-lost sister Hope, back in Bramble at last. And they're fixin' to do whatever it takes to heat things up between her and Hope's long-time flame, Slate Calhoun. If that means rustling her car, spreading rumors like wildfire, and reining in some explosive secrets, well, there's no way like the Lone Star way...

But Slate's no fool. The woman in his truck may look like Hope, yet the way she feels in his arms is altogether new. He's determined to keep this twin in his bed and out of his heart. Trouble is, the real Hope is headed home, and she's got her own designs on Slate. If Faith wants to avoid heartbreak, she'll have to show a certain ruggedly handsome cowboy that this crazy-impossible love is worth fighting for.

Upon the death of her mother, Faith finds out that she has a twin sister. She heads out to Bramble in search of her long lost sister, Hope. Everyone in Bramble mistakes her for Hope except for Slate.

From the start I was totally engrossed in the story. I really liked Faith and Slate as individuals. Both were very likable in their own right. The people of Bramble were a laugh a minute and so set in their ways of believing what they wanted to believe. Also Faith’s interactions with the animals she came into contact with were a total riot. The vast majority of Slate and Faith’s relationship was spent laughing at whatever situation they were in.

I however did not care for Faith’s biological family. I didn’t buy her parents reasoning for giving up Faith for adoption and keeping Hope. Faith’s acceptance of them seemed a little too sudden and her additional siblings didn’t seem at all welcoming to her. Hope came across as being spoiled and very selfish.
