Series Madness: Volume 1 Issue 4

Each week I'll try to post a series that's currently sitting on my bookshelf to be read. This week the series on my bookshelf waiting on me to read is the Cascadia Wolves Series by Lauren Dane. I've started this series, but haven't finished it yet. I think I've read the first three books of this series.

Enforcer

Nina Reyes is a just barely reformed grifter who has left her past and her criminal record behind. That is until her brother shows up on her doorstep with some rogue werewolves out to kill him.

Nina gets further drawn into the web of intrigue when Lex Warden, Cascadia Pack's Enforcer, comes to her for help and she ends up needing his protection.

There are missing viral agents, the werewolf mafia, death threats, arson and a whole lot of scorching sex and acerbic wit between them.

Welcome to the Northwest and Cascadia Pack.

Reluctant

Layla Warden had a ten-year plan and it sure as heck didn't include a mate. She had her flashy car and her corner office and all was right with the world until Sid Rosario sat down at her table and turned her life upside down. Sparks fly as the two werewolves flirt over dinner and it's no surprise to either of them when they end up back at his hotel room, naked and sweaty. But Sid is her mate, and they don't figure it out until the bond is sealed. Layla, driven by confusion and fear, heads out of contact while a frantic Sid looks for her. What comes next helps a reluctant wolf find her way to acceptance.

Tri Mates

Werewolves mate for life. For every wolf, there's a mate out there. So Tracy Warden is thrilled when she discovers Nick Lawrence, the sexy Enforcer for another Pack, is her mate.

But sometimes lucky wolves get to double dip in the form of the extremely rare Tri-Mate-Bond. And so it is when Tracy discovers that her Anchor bond with National Pack Mediator Gabe Murphy is far more. Suddenly Tracy finds herself with two alpha males whose hunger for her never seems to wane. But their bliss is marred by the heavy hand of the werewolf mafia whose reach goes very high up indeed.

Money laundering, kidnapping, assault and other general mayhem can't mar the intensity of their bond, but it sure can threaten their lives.

Wolf Unbound

Overshadowed by the rising threat of the werewolf mafia, Ben and Tegan struggle to stand united. Werewolf Enforcer Tegan Warden has been alone since the death of her mate four years ago. Until she meets Ben Stoner at a local club and she feels something she thought died inside her. Things move very quickly and she finds herself mated to a human man who's not altogether sure he wants a forever kind of love with a woman he's just met. Ben realizes in short order Tegan is not only worth forever love, but a woman who'll stand at his side without tolerating anything other than a full partnership. In the bedroom it's another story, as Ben has finally found a sexual submissive with a spark, and Tegan a man worthy of her submission. Together they work toward building a permanent relationship even as the specter of danger from the Pellini Group grows in the world of wolves. All around them, the rising violence threatens the Packs and the only thing they know for certain is one another.

Cade Warden has always put his Pack first, setting aside everything else even his need for a mate. Now Warren Pellini has a new biological weapon, threatening everything Cade holds dear. Into his life walks Grace Pellini, sister of his greatest enemy and his destined mate. Grace walks a dangerous line, gathering information to aid the Nationally Allied Packs. In the midst of their rising passion and desperate search for the key to disabling the weapon, Pellini raises the stakes with a Challenge. Grace must stand by, Cade's life in her hands, as her mate risks everything for his people.

Fated
Just because Fate brings you your perfect mate doesn't mean it'll be easy.

Could there be any worse fate than a road trip from Seattle to L.A.-with one's mother-to attend a wedding? Why yes, when one isn't married yet, like Megan Warden. Toss in a grandmother and a carload of already married sisters and it's a recipe for sneaking sips of "special" coffee while someone else drives.

Shane Rosario has better things to do than attend a wedding where his father's relatives will be at him nonstop about getting married and having children. If it weren't for seeing his anchor bond, Layla, he'd have taken a pass on the entire weekend. It would be easy, since he's become adept at hiding who and what he is.

When the two weren't even looking, Fate steps in and before they know it, their bond is sealed. Bonded pair, married in the eyes of their people. Two people tied together in every way. Trouble is, Shane's not sure he wants all that comes with Megan. And Megan's certain she's not willing to live outside her pack, pretending to be human.

The distance between them is more than geographical. It's a widening gulf rapidly filling with resentment...an emotional divide only acceptance could bridge. Can Shane can accept himself to cross it? Only if they let love take control.

One witch, one cat shifter. Add one wolf. Blend. Safety glasses recommended.

Renee Parcell loves her life. Her smoothie/coffee cart business is successful, and she’s deeply in love with her boyfriend, Galen. He makes her laugh, he’s gainfully employed, and he satisfies her as only a sexy cat shifter can. He even puts the toilet seat down.

Yet they both sense something in the air. An anticipation that leaves them both unsettled.

Tall, blond and gorgeous Jack Meyers, Enforcer of National Pack and one of the most beautiful men Renee and Galen have ever seen, stumbles into Renee’s life and the riddle of their expectation is solved—Renee is Jack’s mate. What surprises them all is when the three of them touch, magic creates an unexpected triple bond of witch, cat and wolf.

Even as they learn to navigate the steamy intricacies of their bond, a threat looms over Renee. First in the form of resurrected memories, then in the shape of darker magic's someone is aiming at her. Set on stealing her inherent powers—even her life.

Renee can stand to lose almost anything, except her mates. But there seems to be no talking them out of laying everything on the line for her…

Series Madness: Volume 1 Issue 3

It's been a while since I've posted a series that's currently sitting on my bookshelf to be read. So, I'm trying to start it up once again. This week the series on my bookshelf waiting on me to read is the Dark Crescent Sisterhood Series by Anna Windsor.

Bound By Shadow

Riana Dumain is a fully trained Sibyl, a warrior priestess battling evil whose practical magic keeps her grounded in earthly science--and desires. She knows that gorgeous NYPD detective Creed Lowell is dangerous, and possibly a foot soldier for the evil Legion cult, using his badge and drop-dead looks to consolidate demonic power.

Creed's low profile Occult Crimes Unit pulls Riana and her two sister Sibyl into the case of a politician's son, murdered in a ritualistic sacrifice. Soon, Riana's instincts prove true. Creed, the hottest half-human she's ever known, a demon in bed and out, is guarding a trapdoor to hell. And unless Riana can find a way to tame her mystery man's treacherous inner self (and her heart), all of Manhattan may be enveloped by darkness.

Gorgeous flame-haired Cynda Flynn knows fire—its heat, its power, its magic. A fully trained Sybil warrior priestess, Cynda’s weapon is flame. But she’s unprepared for the passion ignited by Nick Lowell, an undercover cop in the NYPD’s Occult Crime Unit. He’s half human, half demon, and hotter than hell, with fathomless black eyes that ignite something buried deep inside Cynda, making her melt in all the right places.

Luckily, Nick has found a way to control his dark side, but he’s done it old-school—through steel-willed self-control. And after five years working secretly within the deadly Legion cult, he’s unbreakable. Or he was, until Cynda came along. Now it’s personal—and even his big bad love may not be enough to halt a terrible new evil snuffing out fire Sybils like Cynda. It’s nasty. And if it can’t be stopped, they’re all going to fry.

Bound By Light

As the broom end of her Sibyl triad, Merilee Alexander has the sacred duty as a warrior of taking out the trash. Lately, though, she’s been a little overwhelmed: Manhattan is a mess. And her prophetic end-of-the-world nightmares aren’t helped by the waking fantasies of love. Or the fact that the object of her affections, gorgeous Jake Lowell of NYPD’s Occult Crimes Unit, is playing it so cool.

Actually, Jake wants Merilee desperately, every luscious inch of her. Still, he’s holding back. He’s got secrets. Dark, dangerous, demonic secrets. But as Jake and Merilee trawl the city’s supernatural underbelly to out a demonic kingpin who, disguised as a charismatic leader, is amassing dark power, it’s make-or-break time. For their lives, their love, and the world are about to be sucked into the undertow of the tides of an unstoppable evil.

Series Madness: Volume 1 Issue 2

I know I said that this was going to be a posting of 3 series I haven't finished and 3 I've never started; but since I had such great feedback, I thought I'd try to turn it into a weekly event. So this week I'm going to continue along the same theme and go with a series that I've have began but not yet completed. If memory serves me correct, I read the first book in this series in July 2009 and just have gotten around to revisiting the series.

Series Madness: Volume 1 Issue 1

My bookshelf is filled with different series that I've either began and not finished, or never even started. To come are six series (three I have started and not yet finished, and three I have yet to start). Here are the first three series.
  • Have Started But Not Yet Finished
1. Lara Adrian Midnight Breed
2. Kresley Cole Immortals After Dark
3. J.R. Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood

J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood is the only series of these three that I truly have every intention of continuing. As for the Midnight Breed and Immortals After Dark series, I just have not found the motivation to continue forward with them.
