#BoutOfBooks Read-A-Thon 9.0

http://boutofbooks.blogspot.com/

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 6th and runs through Sunday, January 12th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 9.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

Goals for this read-a-thon are yet to be determined. It seems whenever I set specific goals/titles I will be reading for a read-a-thon, I tend to read something different. Or feel the pressure to stick with a set number. So this time, I'm just going to have fun with it and wing it.

Completed:

  • Secrets of the Lost Summer
  • Tangled
  • After the Storm (started)
  • Faithful (started)

#FallIntoReading Read-a-thon Goals

UntitledMy goal for this read-a-thon is just to try and reading books that have been patiently waiting on my shelves that have been set aside for newer, shinier ones.

I want to say I'll read 5 books this week but I know I won't with a full-time work schedule that leaves me just wanting to crawl under my bed at the end of the day. (Yes, I said under)

So the plan is just to read what I feel like reading, as long as it's a book that's been hanging out on my shelves for a while.

Some that I may be choosing from are (these are subject to change):
  • Debbie Macomber
  • Addison Fox
  • Siobhan Vivian
  • Susan Mallery

I'll try to update my progress either here on the blog or on Twitter with the hashtag #FallIntoReading

Update (09/29/13:
Finished: Getting Rowdy (previously started)
Completed: 1105 Yakima Street

Dewey's 24 Hour #readathon Updates

Okay, I got a late start today. I think it was about 12:30p before I got around to picking up a book.

So far:
  1. Bring Me Home for Christmas by Robyn Carr (I had already started it)
  2. Under the Covers by Eve Adams (currently reading)
Challenges Completed: 0

I should be farther along but I must confess, I took a bit of a nap. I've got to do better!

Read Your Own Books Read-a-Thon

This weekend's read-a-thon was hosted by Monica @ The Bibliophilic Book Blog. Once again another read-a-thon has come to a close. This time as well as last time I completed 2 books and started number three. I may not complete a whole lot of books during these read-a-thons, but I do have a blast trying.

So here's a look at what I completed.

Overshadowed by the rising threat of the werewolf mafia, Ben and Tegan struggle to stand united. Werewolf Enforcer Tegan Warden has been alone since the death of her mate four years ago. Until she meets Ben Stoner at a local club and she feels something she thought died inside her. Things move very quickly and she finds herself mated to a human man whos not altogether sure he wants a forever kind of love with a woman hes just met. Ben realizes in short order Tegan is not only worth forever love, but a woman wholl stand at his side without tolerating anything other than a full partnership. In the bedroom its another story, as Ben has finally found a sexual submissive with a spark, and Tegan a man worthy of her submission. Together they work toward building a permanent relationship even as the specter of danger from the Pellini Group grows in the world of wolves. All around them, the rising violence threatens the Packs and the only thing they know for certain is one another.

WED BY NECESSITY…JOINED BY DESIRE

Before his trade became his name, “Tracker” Ochoa was a scrawny Mestizo runaway. Now as fearsome as he once was frightened, he’s joined the notorious Hell’s Eight...and they have a job for him.

He must rescue kidnapped heiress Ari Blake and deliver her safely to the Hell’s Eight compound—by any means necessary. Turns out that includes marrying her, if he means to escort her and her infant son across the Texas Territory. Tracker hadn’t bargained on a wife—especially such a fair, blue-eyed beauty. But the erotic pleasures of the marriage bed more than make up for the surprise.

Tracker’s well-muscled bronze skin and dark, dangerous eyes are far more exciting than any of Ari’s former debutante dreams. In the light of day, though, his deep scars and brooding intensity terrify her. But he’s her husband and she’s at his mercy. With the frontier against them and mercenary bandits at their heels, Ari fears she’ll never feel safe again.

48 Hour Read-a-Thon: Closing Comments

Okay, the read-a-thon has come to a close, and I read a whopping 2 1/2 books! I know that doesn't sound like much, but for me, with all the other things I had going on this weekend, that was a lot of reading accomplished.

I started out not really having any books planned out to read, other than the one I was currently reading at the start of the read-a-thon. When it was all said and done, these are the books I read:

Wild, Wicked, & Wanton by Jaci Burton
Regan's Pride by Diana Palmer

I must admit, I read Regan's Pride because it was short. I couldn't possibly enter into a 48 hour read-a-thon and only read one book. As always, I enjoy participating in read-a-thons, I just feel like I should be reading more. I most definitely will be doing more read-a-thons should they arise.

Thanks again to Wallace @ Unputdownables for hosting this great event.

48 Hour Read-A-Thon

I'm attempting another Read-A-Thon!! This time it's a 48 hour read-a-thon, so maybe I'll get more accomplished this time. I'm getting started a little late, but I'm going to give it a try. I don't have all my books picked out' I'll just go on what I feel like reading.

This event is being hosted by Wallace over at Unputdownables. So are you in? Come read with me this weekend!

If You’re In:

1.Choose a few books that you will attempt to finish this weekend (Friday evening through Sunday night).
2.Post your TBR Read-a-Thon books on your blog so your readers can see what you are attempting for the weekend.
3.Challenge your readers to read along with you! (It’s OK if they don’t, but might be fun if they want to choose at least one book to participate with).
4.Join the discussion all weekend long at #bookblogchat on Twitter.
5.Post updates on your blog about what you are reading and what you have finished (full reviews can come later, but this will let your readers know what you are reading so they can either read along or look forward to your reviews!)
6.Visit other blogs that are doing the read-a-long. Post comments and follow your fellow bloggers.
7.Make sure you sign up here with Mr. Linky with a link to your first post so we can follow your progress!
8.*If you don’t have a blog but want to participate: Sign up with Mr. Linky, just don’t add a website (or you can link to your Twitter or GoodReads page).*

My first attempt (I'll add more as I go) is my current read
