Series: Masters of the Shadowlands #1
Publisher: Loose Id LLC
Publication Date: January 13, 2009
Kindle {p.155}
Genre: BDSM
Characters: Jessica Randall, Zachery "Master Z"
Challenge: 100+, 50 States ~ Florida

Her car disabled during a tropical storm, Jessica Randall discovers the isolated house where she's sheltering is a private bondage club. At first shocked, she soon becomes aroused watching the interactions between the Doms and their subs. But she's a professional woman--an accountant--and surely isn't a submissive...is she?

Master Z hasn't been so attracted to a woman in years. But the little sub who has wandered into his club intrigues him. She's intelligent. Reserved. Conservative. After he discovers her interest in BDSM, he can't resist tying her up and unleashing the passion she hides within.
Jessica is stranded in the middle of a storm with Club Shadowlands as her only source of shelter. Master Z takes pity on her and lets her in against his better judgment. Upon which she immediately causes trouble.

Jessica is turned on by what she sees inside the club, but feels she shouldn’t due to her sister’s abusive relationship. Master Z sees that she’s struggling to fight her desire and sets out to have her experience all the club has to offer.

The BDSM wasn’t as heavy as I thought it would be. I don’t know why I went into this book thinking it would be hardcore, but it wasn’t. There was spanking and restraints but nothing too drastic. So if the lighter side of BDSM is what you’re into, this will fit the bill.

The writing was good as far as the scenes and chemistry between them. The only drawback is that I would have liked the story to have been longer. I wasn’t ready for the story to be over because it felt incomplete. Although it was short, the characters did feel like real people.

But since this is a series, hopefully the next installment may wrap up the loose ends. Definitely want to continue this series.
