After her father loses the family fortune in an insider-trading scheme, single mom Parker Welles is faced with some hard decisions. First order of business: go to Gideon's Cove, Maine, to sell the only thing she now owns—a decrepit house in need of some serious flipping. When her father's wingman, James Cahill, asks to go with her, she's not thrilled -- …even if he is fairly gorgeous and knows his way around a toolbox.Parker and James may have seemed like an unlikely pair, but they were perfect together. Parker was uncertain about getting involved with James because of their age difference and the fact that she saw him as her father's "minion," because he was her father's lawyer.
Having to fend for herself financially for the first time in her life, Parker signs on as a florist's assistant and starts to find out who she really is. Maybe James isn't the glib lawyer she always thought he was. And maybe the house isn't the only thing that needs a little TLC….
James was a bit uncomfortable with being around Parker's young son Nicky, so I was unsure of how that would affect their relationship. Once I got to know about his background, it became clear as to why he was uncomfortable around children. But I did love his relationship with Parker's father Harry. I was happy to see James had some sort of father-type relationship since his own father wanted nothing to do with him.
The ending was perfect. With Parker and her father making a decent start at trying to mend their relationship. And of the budding one between James and Nicky. I loved their last scene together in the book.
The fact that this book brought couples from previous books in the mix and we got to see how they were progressing was an added bonus. I hope that Higgins decides to revisit Parker and James in the future as well.

I love Kristan Higgins' books - they are always such good, sweet stories.
Thanks for having this giveaway!
I'm ashamed to admit this, but I don't have a favorite couple because I haven't read any of her books yet. I have been hearing really good things, so I need to check out some of her stuff.
I liked Grace and Callahan from Too Good To Be True.
I haven't read Kristin's books yet, but I'd like to (wink).
I am a big fan of Kristan's books, so I liked all the couples. My very favorite couple, though, was Grace and Callahan from the book TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.
Lucy and Ethan from The Next Best Thing are my favorite couple so far. I have only read two of Kristan's books so far.
Posey and Liam are my favorites.
Karen Triolo
Grace and Callahan
Sadly, I've only read one book by Kristan Higgins and that's Fools Rush In, so my favorite couple would have to be Millie and Sam.
I like Ethan and Lucy from The Next Best Thing. Thanks for having this giveaway.
