Synopsis
Welcome to Fool's Gold, California, a charming community in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. There's lots to do and plenty of people to meet, especially women. Because there's just one tiny problem in Fool's Gold: the men don't seem to stick around. Maybe it's the lure of big-city life, or maybe it's plain old bad luck, but regardless of the reason, the problem has to be fixed, fast. And Charity Jones may be just the city planner to do it.
Charity's nomadic childhood has left her itching to settle down, and she immediately falls in love with all the storybook town has to offer—everything, that is, except its sexiest and most famous resident, former world-class cyclist Josh Golden. With her long list of romantic disasters, she's not about to take a chance on another bad boy, even if everyone else thinks he's perfect just the way he is. But maybe that's just what he needs—someone who knows the value of his flaws. Someone who knows that he's just chasing perfect.
Charity moves to Fool's Gold after a bad breakup and meets Josh, one of very few men in Fool's Gold. The town is overrun by women with hardly any men to speak of. Great premise, right? Charity has a couple of issues due to the way that she was raised by her mother. Not only does she meet and fall in love with Josh upon moving here, but she also meets a relative she didn't know existed.
The sparks between these two were pretty much immediate. And I absolutely love Fool's Gold; I want to live there! Although Charity starts out dressing like an octogenerian, to be taken seriously in her profession, Josh recognizes that there is just something about her that attracts him to her. Charity starts out denying her feelings for Josh beacuse he's so good looking which automatically means he's trouble, but finally can no longer fight it. There are a few obstacles thrown in their way, but of course they overcome them. Some parts were predictable but not so predictable that it would be annoying. The story offers a little whodunit side story that adds to the overall story.
I would recommend it just for the side characters alone.

It was an amazing book and such a wonderful one to kick-off the Fools Gold Series. I've had the pleasure of reading Almost Perfect and it's spectacular!
I so here you on loving Fools Gold. Can we be roommates? LOL. This was a cute story and I'm going to read Ethan's book soon. Woot!
